ABSTRACT
Hylodes nasus is a hylodid frog species that inhabits streams in the Brazilian Atlantic Rainforest of southeastern Brazil. It endemic to Tijuca Massif, which includes one largest urban forests world, National Park, Rio de Janeiro. We studied diet, activity period, habitat use, and reproductive effort H. during its period. Our results showed has wide spectrum prey items (21 categories) but feeds mainly on five categories (Diptera, Formicidae, Coleoptera, larvae, other Hymenoptera). The diurnal tends present slight decrease near midday. noted change microhabitat use between active (diurnal) inactive (nocturnal) periods: individuals occupied stones, whereas low vegetation. ovarian complement comprises median 88 oocytes with mean diameter 2.2 mm. gathered information consists first approximation biological ecological characteristics species.
