ABSTRACT
The incorporation of chemical agents with anti-plaque or antimicrobial activity into dental products has been proposed as a potential prophylactic method reducing plaque-mediated disease. aim this study was to determine the efficacy different brands toothpaste and mouthwash on Staphylococcus aureus isolated from mouth healthy Pharmacy students Igbinedion University Okada. Samples 40 {20 male 20 female students} were included in study. Swabs taken areas very close bottom teeth samples processed Pharmaceutical Microbiology laboratory according standard microbiological procedures for bacteria. Five isolates confirmed among obtained used susceptibility testing toothpastes mouthwashes using agar well diffusion method. selected observed have better inhibitory compared mouthwash. Toothpaste B had other toothpastes. This shows that dentifrice containing fluoride main active agent proved more against than not their agent.
