ABSTRACT
This research analyzes the patterns of social interaction and tolerance between Malay community Batak ethnic group in Bagan Pete, Jambi City. Known for its pluralistic characteristics since pre-independence era, City shows how diversity can be a positive force instead source conflict. City's Pete became focus due to high driven by presence Jalan Lintas Timur Alam Barajo Terminal, which attracted many migrants, especially who are predominantly Christian. Through qualitative approach with in-depth interviews ten key informants, reveals complex dynamics two communities. The results show that interactions manifest various forms, including cooperation, conflict, competition accommodation. Positive mainly seen daily economic activities, conflicts arise generally minor nature resolved through constructive dialogue. Religious is prominent aspect, shown community's respect different beliefs, reinforced initiatives develop religious understanding study groups, Islamic schools, Qur'anic learning. findings have practical implications local government policy development development, importance interethnic programs, interfaith dialogue, strengthening role leaders maintaining harmony.
