ABSTRACT
Two chelating resins (CRs) bearing iminodiacetate (IDA) groups derived from acrylonitrile -divinylbenzene (AN-DVB) copolymers having 10 and 15 wt.% nominal cross-linking degrees were used as sorbents for removal of heavy metal ions like: Cu 2+ , Ni Co aqueous solutions by batch technique. The experimental data analyzed pseudo-first order, pseudo-second intra-particle diffusion equations. The adsorption kinetics was well described the order equation, supporting chemisorption would be rate-determining step.CRs showed good retention ability in following order: > capacity increasing with decrease hydrated cation radius.Desorption CRs achieved about 60 min using 1 M H 2 SO 4 40 HCl.
