ABSTRACT
We investigated the impact of depressed mood (dysphoria) and loss interest or pleasure (anhedonia)on risk dementia in cognitively-normal elderly individuals.This study included 2,685 individuals who completed baseline 4-year follow-up assessments Korean Longitudinal Study on Cognitive Aging Dementia. ascertained presence dysphoria anhedonia using Mini International Neuropsychiatric Inventory. defined subjective cognitive decline as complaints without objective impairments. analyzed association with disorders multinomial logistic regression analysis adjusted for age, sex, education, Cumulative Illness Rating Scale score, Apolipoprotein E genotype, neuropsychological test performance.During period, was associated an approximately twofold higher mild impairment (OR=2.09, 95% CI=1.20-3.64, p=0.008) fivefold (OR=5.07, CI=1.44-17.92, p=0.012) but not decline. In contrast, (OR=2.06, CI=1.33-3.19, p=0.001) 1.7-fold (OR=1.75, CI=1.00-3.05, p=0.048) dementia.Anhedonia, dysphoria, is a factor individuals.
