ABSTRACT
Objectives: Estimate the incidence of confounding lesions (CL) with pressure injuries in an intensive care unit oncology hospital, to characterize patients and confused injuries. Methods: Prospective cohort study conducted adult hospital Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. The sample consisted 67 who met inclusion criteria. data were collected during period one month by single researcher stomatherapist registered form prepared for this purpose. was approved Research Ethics Committee. Results: 58.1% women, 65.1% elderly, 51.2% white, gastrointestinal cancer predominating, 71.6% using adjuvant chemotherapy, below-normal body mass index, 100% had urinary incontinence or fecal diaper use. these 35.8%, average time their onset 11 days after admission. Most skin changes such as maceration, peeling, erythema, dehydration, edema. Conclusion: We can conclude that is high admitted units. It possible describe demographic clinical profile around them.
