ABSTRACT
Objective: To characterize the elderly patients with intestinal stoma, enrolled in a Reference Center of public health network state, regarding sociodemographic and clinical aspects. Method: This is cross-sectional descriptive study sample 33 stoma who met inclusion criteria. Data were extracted from medical record, interview evaluation surrounding skin, analyzed through statistics. Results: underwent surgery private hospitals, 54.5% female, 51.6% married or stable union, mean age was 68.03 (± 7.2) years, 69.7% had cancer as cause 66.7% temporary 81.8% colostomies. There predominance stomas regular round shape, diameter between 10 64 mm protrusion 2.79 5.1), use drainage bag cut greater than 51.5% for device care. Conclusion: allowed to identify profile which will allow adjustment specialized assistance planning provision collecting equipment adjuvants context state.
