ABSTRACT
To improve diamond finishing of B4C and Si3N4 ceramic balls, we investigated patterns of changes in productivity and accuracy of processing, namely, an average diameter of balls in a batch, difference in the diameters of balls in a batch, arithmetic mean variations in the diameter of balls, and rate of change of these indicators. We obtained linear and nonlinear approximation models of these indicators and developed, based on these models, a method for determining the allowance at different stages of processing, depending on the given value of the variation of the diameter of the spheres.
