ABSTRACT
Background: Sweet's Syndrome, also known as acute febrile neutrophilic dermatosis, is a rare inflammatory skin disorder that presents rapid onset of tender, lesions, which usually appear on the arms, face, and neck.It histologically characterized by infiltrate in dermis with karyorrhexis massive papillary dermal edema.Sweet's subdivided into three classifications based etiology: classical, malignancy-associated, drug-induced.Case Presentation: We present case 55 year old African American woman past medical history smoldering multiple myeloma hepatitis C who presented to emergency department widespread tender bullous lesions extremities, trunk, inguinal area, vulva, along accompanying polyarthritis.The patient was treated empirically intravenous methylprednisolone for suspected autoimmune disease following rule out infectious etiology vasculitis.Biopsies subsequent hospitalization demonstrated dermis, diagnosed Syndrome. Conclusion:It unknown whether this patient's Syndrome secondary her myeloma, C, or idiopathic.We believe likely underlying culprit given link between blood malignancies presentation similar presentations reported cases myeloma.Based our study, we recommend patients receive appropriate workup C.
