ABSTRACT
To date, the intraindividual reproducibility of fasting and postprandial gallbladder (GB) volumes has not been established satisfactorily. Hence we examined variability GB motility, using biplane Simpson method as a new sonographic tool for volume determination. The was validated in vitro vivo compared with sum-of-cylinders method. Thereafter, emptying after defined test meal 10 healthy volunteers over 108 min on days 1, 31, 61.The results correlated real (r = 0.99) provided intra- inter-observer variation less than 5%. Intraindividually, differences ranged from 1.9 to 24.0 ml within observation period. The patterns also showed fluctuations characterized by rather large interindividual variability. The is reliable measuring volumes. vary considerably individuals when measured period 2 months.
