ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) and sociodemographic parameters on depression during pregnancy.Between September 2010 2011, 200 consecutive women with HG were defined as group pregnant without any signs symptoms HG, matched for age, parity, gestational age control group. Beck inventory-II (BDI-II) questionnaire evaluating educational level, occupation, economic status, obstetric history given all participants self-completion. forms collected within 6 h hospital admission. Groups compared according presence predictors analyzed by regression analysis.Median BDI-II scores in groups 15 5, respectively. difference statistically significant (p < 0.001). In group, 35.1% patients had mild depression, 26.0% moderate, 17.8% severe while only 5% 95% no depression. Multivariate analysis showed that family relationship related pregnancy. Moreover, risk increased 76-fold (odds ratio = 76.000; confidence interval: 36.840-156.788; p 0.001).Depression is therefore not medical therapy but also psychiatric evaluation should be considered these patients.
