In 1965 T. I. Isachenko made a scheme of geobotanical zoning for the southern part Amur-Zeya interfluve. She identified five districts and subdistricts within boundaries zones subzones. This stays relevant to present day. V. Lipatova (1969а) created large-scale maps key areas Amur Central districts. No other work on vegetation mapping in interfluve was done this area.
