ABSTRACT
Telehealth has been rapidly adopted to provide continuity of delivery mental health services in light COVID-19. However, the remote implementation intensive treatments like dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) vastly understudied. The aim current commentary is describe potential obstacles, propose solutions, and discuss advantages transitioning from traditional in-person a virtual format for full model DBT. We speak these points at multiple levels relevance clinical scientists practitioners: 1) considerations about format, 2) DBT specifically, 3) person-level (e.g., client, clinician). illustrate using examples obstacles encountered solutions identified during our team’s rapid transition telehealth response COVID-19-related shut-downs extension going forward. are hopeful that COVID-19 serves as call action clinicians adapt leverage technology deliver on broader scale improve patient outcomes.
