ABSTRACT
*This is a preprint and has been accepted for publication by Cognitive Development* Children’s metacognitive monitoring typically considered as domain general skill that can be applied in different tasks situations. However, this assumption lacks empirical evidence few studies tested whether children’s accuracy of judgments well their behaviours are consistent across tasks. It also not clear if children who provide more accurate show frequent behaviours. In the current research study 53 elementary school was assessed with four tasks: on one hand, two computer-based (one task required memory other reaction times); frequency which they engaged construction Correlational analysis showed there no significant association between judgment accuracies. turn, behaviour significantly positively associated. Intercorrelations accuracies accurately monitored time when working Conversely, associated behaviour. These findings suggest processes underlying may specific, whereas tendency to engage general. Implications promoting discussed.
