ABSTRACT
Background: The golden thread (jori) work is one of the major home based industries providing employment to thousands artisans spread over several rural areas West Bengal. study essentially labor intensive and thus workers are prone suffer from related health problems. Objective: present was aimed evaluate musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) postural stress female workers. Methods: carried on 123 adult in different districts prevalence MSD, body part discomfort rating (BPD) (by OWAS, RULA, REBA method) were evaluated by standard methods. EMG shoulder back muscle recorded with help BIOPAC system. Result: results showed that MSDs, BPD comparatively lower case sitting floor folded legs than squatting stretched legs. RMS values voltage this posture other two postures. Conclusion: It therefore, concluded less hazardous it imposed comparison postures adopted workers.International Journal Occupational Safety Health, Vol 4 No 2 (2014) 24 – 33
