Consequences of eruptions from can extend far beyond volcano’s immediate area. Many aspects our daily life are vulnerable volcano hazards, including air travel, regional power generation transmission infrastructure, interstate transportation, port facilities, communications public health. The Survey has Federal responsibility issue timely warnings volcanic activity affected populace civil authorities. Volcano Hazards Program (VHP) is funded carry out that mission does so through a combination monitoring, short-term warnings, research on how work, community education outreach.
