ABSTRACT
Badging or micro-credentialing programs have been used in higher education to allow students pursue additional skills training helpful their intended career path. These programs, overseen by faculty members and tracked using digital certification software, create an incorruptible ledger of student learning achievement that can be shared with potential employers providers advanced at the student's discretion. This teaching tip describes implementation a voluntary badging program for one veterinary college, including member engagement during its first year implementation. During year, five created seven unique badges, each three levels (bronze, silver, gold). 10 badges were awarded 8 students, numerous other process completing badge requirements. Students reported participating gain more skill area interest because they thought would beneficial getting job into program. The majority program's planning continue working on next year. An cohort who did not participate also expressed starting work badges. allowed document progress interest. college intends develop areas high research stakeholders’ opinions received.
