ABSTRACT
Abstract The polypropylene-graft-cardanol (CAPP) was prepared by reactive extrusion of polypropylene (PP), dicumyl peroxide (DCP) and cardanol. Differential scanning calorimeter, polarizing microscope wide-angle X-ray diffraction were used to evaluate the effects DCP cardanol on nucleation crystallization PP. Results indicated that could work as nucleator for PP afford impurity needed at small angle kick pleat lamellae during spherulite growth. For effect nucleation, it found rate enhanced 2 3 times addition 0.2% DCP. growth, growth rates CAPP increased from 10.9μm · min −1 13.5 μm 5% Due DCP, total degraded initiated process (dPP) quicker than Attributed promotion cardanol, grew more perfectly in PP, so Avrami exponents 2.1–2.5 3.1–3.5
