ABSTRACT
Abstract Very low pressure plasma spraying (VLPPS) is an emerging process allowing manufacturing oxide and metallic coatings by condensation of vapors generated feedstock powder vaporization. This operates at unusually pressures, typically between 100 1000 Pa. paper aims presenting recent developments for Ti,Al,N via a reactive mode. At first, nitrogen was used as the primary forming gas to enrich surrounding with nitriding species. Plasma jet mass enthalpy substrate surface temperature were varied evidence nitride phase formation during spraying. Then, secondary injection implemented located close be covered in view creating continuous supply promote mechanisms on surface. SEM, XRD, GDOES NHT characterize structure. study highlights nitrides versus spray operating conditions. The microstructural mechanical features well chemical composition are presented.
