ABSTRACT
The use of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) in mix contributes to sustainable construction. However, a high percentage RAP causes concern about compromising the performance pavement, especially cracking. binder transfer and blending between virgin aggregate during production an plant is critical procedure that affects mix. heating by superheated can affect degree which are blended thus mixes containing RAP. Several parameters, such as percentage, mixing time, moisture content, binder. To increase understanding transfer, laboratory tests numerical simulations employed discrete element method (DEM) were conducted for this study investigate temperature evolution amount materials drum mixer. results indicated longer time or higher was needed cases with content content. DEM found be promising studying process materials. In future, could applied guide mixes.
