ABSTRACT
Introduction: Studies have shown that caregiving is associated with high burden could affect caregivers’ mental and physical well-being. Unfortunately, caregivers are often overlooked even by healthcare professionals. With the rise of our elderly population morbidity from stroke, there a need to assess among family in society. This study was carried out determine level stroke patients attending Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia Kelantan evaluate possible risk factors those burden. Methods: A total 116 were interviewed. The participants recruited Klinik Rawatan Keluarga Malaysia. Caregivers assessed for using Zarit Burden Interview. Results: mean score 25.42 (SD 6.45). minimum 11 maximum 49. significantly found who look after bedbound higher levels While caregiver lower household income secondary or tertiary education level. Conclusions: Factors such as condition patient, caregiver’s should be taken into account evaluation patients.
