ABSTRACT
Nanocrystalline cellulose was modified by 3-aminopropyl-triethoxysilane (KH550).The nanocrystalline (MNCC) further investigated to partially replace silica in natural rubber (NR) composites via coagulation.NR/MNCC/silica and NR/nanocrystalline (NCC)/silica nanocomposites were prepared.Through the comparison of vulcanization characteristics, processing properties compounds mechanical properties, compression fatigue dynamic performance NR/MNCC/silica NR/NCC/silica nanocomposites, MNCC proved be more efficient than NCC.MNCC could activate process, suppress Payne effect, increase 300% modulus, tear strength hardness, reduce heat build-up set. Moreover, fine dispersion strong interfacial interaction achieved nanocomposites. The observed reinforcement effects evaluated based on results apparent crosslinking density (V r ), thermo-gravimetric (TG) scanning electron microscopic (SEM) analyses with nanocomposites.
