ABSTRACT
Experiments were conducted to investigate vaccination and dietary modification as possible prophylactic measures minimize bacterial kidney disease (BKD) infection occurrence severity in Atlantic Salmon. In the nutritional studies, a commercial diet six diets containing various levels of calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, copper, maganese, cobalt, iodine, fluorine fed post-yearling salmon. After administration different diets, fish high iodine (4.5 mg/kg feed) mg/kg) had lower prevalence clinical BKD (3.6%) compared other experimental (15-24% prevalence) feed (34%). trials, salmon parr administered 0.1 ml intraperitoneal injection formalin killed cells emulsified Freund's complete adjuvant, showed an elevated agglutinating antibody response, almost absence lesion formation kidneys.Prevention furunculosis was achieved trout by vaccination.
