ABSTRACT
Background and Importance: Angiographic-proven clinically-evident cerebral vasospasm (CVS) after uneventful elective clipping of unruptured intracranial aneurysm (UIA) is a very rare often underestimated event. To date, the knowledge risk factors, pathophysiology, demographic characteristics these conditions are solely relegated to few case reports. With aim better characterize shared features mechanism that could be involved in such event we also performed review present literature analyzed aneurysm’s features, surgical treatments, recovery all reported cases CVS clipping. Clinical Presentation: We report following middle artery (MCA) bifurcation 59-year-old woman who smoked next days treatment, despite medical advice. found ten comparable ours with angiographic-proven clinically evident Conclusion: Classic mechanisms SAH have been widely studied. In analyzed, no subarachnoid bleeding occurred, as demonstrated pre postoperative CT scans intraoperatively. Various theories on possible advanced. It seems reasonable multifactorial phenomenon. Although its pathogenesis unclear, clinicians should keep mind existence this event, rare, but it seen clinical practice every neurosurgery ward. our opinion, it’s worth know post-operative complication because, when suspected signs symptoms delayed ischemic neurological deficit (DIND) arise clipping, important make an early diagnosis owing treatments critical improve outcome
