ABSTRACT
This article is a study of the consequences brokerage for movements, and particularly role political parties within social movements. My findings indicate that creates opportunities minor groups to play crucial in mobilization, something comes at cost movement’s structure. I make my case with action, based on activist interviews, events data, network data collected from Scottish independence movement. Results demonstrate likelihood governing National Party participating movement only increases number organizations.
