ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between radiological indices shoulder balance (SB) and cosmetic deformity in patients with Lenke type 2 adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) determine extent which patient-reported outcomes (PROs) correlate these measurements. Current management decisions for SB AIS are primarily based on It is crucial understand how parameters relate patient satisfaction. METHODS authors analyzed preoperative photographic SB, along PROs, AIS. Lateral included height (RSH) clavicle angle, while medial first rib angle T1 tilt angle. Photographic (SHA), axilla (AHA), left/right trapezius (LRTA) ratio. assessed self-image, mental health, total score domains Korean version 22-item Scoliosis Research Society questionnaire. RESULTS In their analysis patients, found that coefficients measurements ranged from −0.25 0.47, among only lateral including RSH showed a significant anterior posterior indices. No statistically correlations were PROs. Anterior SHA AHA significantly correlated all three PROs (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS Radiological did not accurately reflect perceived SB. reliable evaluating clinical Spine surgeons may benefit paying more attention when making surgical regarding
