ABSTRACT
Arachnoid cysts (ACs) are congenital abnormalities that can be located anywhere within the subarachnoid space along cerebrospinal axis, although they most often found on left side in temporal fossa and sylvian fissure. ACs comprise approximately 1% of all intracranial space-occupying lesions considered potential risk factors for subdural hematoma (SDH) individuals age groups who have experienced traumatic brain injury. Although it is uncommon an intracystic hemorrhage AC to occur without evidence head trauma, may more common among children young adults. Here, authors present three cases spontaneous with chronic SDH. Additionally, provide a thorough review existing literature. All patients were adolescent males. In cases, was identified using Galassi classification (type II or III) associated SDH as seen imaging.Spontaneous rare complication occurs commonly side. Surgery definitive treatment, requiring either craniotomy burr hole evacuation microsurgical fenestration drain cyst into cisterns.
