ABSTRACT
The authors discuss the safety and efficacy of an ultrasonic bone curette in various spinal surgeries report its advantages clinical application.Between April 2002 September 2003, 76 patients with diseases (29 cervical, five thoracic, 40 lumbosacral, two foramen magnum regions) were treated microsurgically by using a Sonopet longitudinal torsional tips lightweight handpieces. operations performed successfully device was easy to handle. There no instrument-related complications or -induced damage any structure even when removing osseous spurs ossified lesions near dura mater, nerves, vessels.The is useful instrument for procedures mater other neural tissue without excessive heat production mechanical injury.
