ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: The outcome for simultaneous revascularization of more than 1 supra-aortic arterial stenosis has not been evaluated because concerns regarding the increased risk additional procedures. We feasibility and safety concomitant multiple revascularizations (CMSAR). MATERIALS METHODS: retrospectively 50 consecutive patients who underwent CMSARs with angioplasty stent placement. study included a separate lesion group (LG) (n = 28), ipsilateral LG 17) including adjacent 6) remote 11) tandem lesions, triple 5). assessed procedural success (defined as residual <30%) periprocedural event rate (ER) (minor or major stroke, death). compared ERs in (ipsilateral vs separate) symptom (unstable stable) pattern groups Fisher exact test. RESULTS: Procedural was achieved all (50/50). Periprocedural events within 30 days were noted 5 (10%). ER 2 after procedure higher (4/17) (0/28) (P .016). Major consisting stroke death occurred unstable (4%) common (2 7) stable (0/38) .029). During mean 11-month follow-up period, there symptomatic recurrence. CONCLUSION: are feasible high resulting favorable short-term outcome. However, they must be carefully performed LG, especially group.
