ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE:
Early evaluation of the pyramidal tract is a prerequisite in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) order to decide optimal treatment or assess appropriate rehabilitation. The aim this study was evaluate and predict neuromotor functional outcome an ICH by using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) acute phase.
MATERIALS METHODS:
Eighteen hemiparetic supratentorial were prospectively studied DTI within 2 days after onset. A region-of-interest-based analysis performed for fractional anisotropy (FA) cerebral peduncles. degree paresis assessed at day 0 28 grading (PG). evaluated modified Rankin Scale (mRS).
RESULTS:
FA affected side significantly lower compared that unaffected (P = .001) mean diffusivity remaining unchanged .50). ratio (rFA) correlated PG mRS score .002, r −0.674; P < .001, −0.767; −0.676). rFA good poor outcomes based on different .001). cutoff point set 0.85 (sensitivity, 100%, specificity, 100%).
CONCLUSIONS:
We conclude can motor deficit quantitatively may who scanned
