ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE:
Parotid gland BCA is a rare benign tumor. Only few studies describing the imaging features of have been published. This study investigated CT and sonography characteristics parotid gland.
MATERIALS METHODS:
Demographics patients with were evaluated, lesion (n = 22) 20) reviewed. These cases grouped into 3 types: type 1 tumors, located at superficial region lobe gland; 2 deeper lobe; in deep lobe. Imaging findings correlated pathology.
RESULTS:
Sixteen (73%) female 6 (27%) male. The mean age was 51.5 years (SD 10.2; range 32–73). size tumors less than 30 mm. sizes 1, 2, 11.4 ± 3.29 mm, 19.3 5.44 26 3.6 respectively. attenuation increase 64.5 19 HU on contrast CT. solid (11/11), showed homogeneous or slightly heterogeneous enhancement CT, homogeneously heterogeneously hypoechoic sonography. Cystic changes tended to occur (7/8) (2/3) which obvious anechoic
CONCLUSIONS:
tends be small shows early intense enhancement. tumor common gland, cystic lesions mostly parts
