ABSTRACT
Introduction: Clean water, basic toilets, and good hygiene practices are essential for all human beings. Water, Sanitation, Hygiene in the fish market while handling to reduce as well prevent contamination microbial growth. Objective: To assess sanitation, (WASH) among fisherwomen Udupi Taluk. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out using a validated questionnaire Data were entered analyzed IBM Statistical Package Social Science (SPSS) version 16.0. Results: The found that most markets use reliable water source. had at least one functional toilet (66.8%) of toilets clean. It (86.4%) waste been collected daily by municipality. majority (98.6%) wash their hands before having food, practice, after but (62.4%) only with water. About (88.3%) do not receiving currency notes from customers. practice menstrual be better. Work experience significantly significant (p-value <0.05). Conclusion: Training awareness programs need conducted increase knowledge about hygienic conditions market.
