ABSTRACT
Objective. To evaluate the effectiveness of two antifibrinolytic drugs (tranexamic acid and epsilon-aminocaproic acid) in reducing postoperative hemarthrosis after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.Methods.45 patients diagnosed with primary tears were randomly placed into 3 groups: control, tranexamic (TXA) (EAC).The first group was operated on without use drugs, for other two, dose adjusted by weight. The evaluation conducted 1 7 days to assess degree hemarthrosis, visual pain scale measure range motion (ROM) degrees. The then assigned a subjective functional score at 14 28 days.Results.The TXA showed improvement compared control group. When evaluated Lysholm score, group. No significant statistical difference emerged parameter EAC group.Conclusions.The tranexamic-acid reduced improved function arthroscopic reconstruction ACL.Up this point, Epsilon-aminocaproic yielded no benefit.A follow-up study more participants may confirmation our findings or present new relevant findings.
