The authors study the current status of Hungarian Cikta Sheep based on genetic background scrapie resistance. aim this investigation was to estimate relative frequency prion haplotypes, -genotypes, and risk categories as well reveal efficiency eradication program achieved over last decade. confirmed larger sample size previous knowledge, that resistance against breed is considered low, classification according category has not been improved. However, frequent genotype ARQ 3 can also be for specificity. careful use these genotypes permitted will contribute maintenance diversity other aspects.
