ABSTRACT
Red mud is a highly alkaline solid waste from the Bayer process for aluminum production. reservoirs are usually considered as potential environmental risk. The treatment of red costly due to lack an effective and economical technology. On other hand, main components Fe2O3, Al2O3, SiO2, Na2O, which could be employed promising precursor preparation various nanomaterials. In this study, we prepared activated by thermal acid method applied it adsorption H2S in air. was under different temperatures (i.e., 200, 400, 600, 800 oC 4 h), types H2SO4 HCl), concentrations 0.5, 1.5, 2.5 M). produced materials were then removal air with concentration 90 – 110 mg/m3 using fix-bed column test. Results showed that at 1.5 M solution had highest capacity 29.38 mg/g average efficiency 80.2%. effects gas flow rate initial also investigated, achieved inlet 100 1 L/min. Both Langmuir Freundlich isotherms modelling material experimental result more fitted isotherm. desorption recyclability test conducted evaluating practical application 200 suggested temperature 81.7% recovery.
