ABSTRACT
PURPOSE To evaluate the influence of hydrofluoric acid (HF) concentration and etching time on microshear bond strength (µSBS) RelyX Unicem 2 (3M Oral Care) to VITA Suprinity (Vita Zahnfabrik; zirconia-reinforced lithium-silicate glass ceramic: ZLS) IPS e.max CAD (Ivoclar Vivadent; lithium-disilicate LD). MATERIALS AND METHODS Forty-eight bars each were fabricated ZLS LD with Cerec InLab MC-XL. For material, 8 groups formed respect (20, 40, 60, 120 s) HF (4.9% 9.5%). In group, after silanization, 15 cylindrical specimens built up for µSBS testing a special device. Data analyzed using three-way ANOVA. Failure modes assessed an optical stereomicroscope, classified as adhesive, cohesive in resin or ceramic, mixed. statistically Fisher's Exact Test. One bar per group was prepared SEM observation etched surface. RESULTS showed significantly higher strengths than (p < 0.001). Etchant influential factor superior 4.9% = 0.009). Etching did not affect adhesion 0.066). The material-etching interaction significant 0.004). Particularly ZLS, obtained 9.5%. By HF, LD. CONCLUSION Material influenced between composite cement ceramics. factor. use 20 s proved be most effective treatment intaglio
