ABSTRACT
This article presents an overview of literature on special education teacher burnout and attrition, which has historically been a significant challenge that culminates in cycle shortages subsequent negative outcomes for students with disabilities. As proactive measure to combat stress, burnout, attrition within the first few years service, framework (addressed as SMIRC) centered practical, tangible strategies take directly classroom teachers, administrators, Educator Preparation Programs. Recommendations practice are included supportive, aimed at increasing retention.
