ABSTRACT
Abstract This study aimed to investigate the disparities between metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) and conventional culture results in patients with bronchiectasis. Additionally, we sought correlation clinical characteristics of their microbiome profiles. The overarching goal was enhance effective management treatment bronchiectasis patients, providing a theoretical foundation for healthcare professionals. A retrospective survey conducted on 67 admitted First Hospital Jiaxing from October 2019 March 2023. Clinical baseline information, inflammatory indicators, pathogen detection reports, including mNGS, blood culture, bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) sputum results, were collected. By comparing mNGS differences rate types explored, diagnostic performance compared evaluated.
