ABSTRACT
Objective: Heart rate variability has been proposed as a valid method to examine the individual response training load in endurance athletes. Thanks this tool, relationship between basal and post-exercise measurements can be analyzed during microcycle (one week) using straight values or their coefficients of variation.
Method: Ten amateur athletes (n = 5 men, n women) were monitored 7-day that included three road-cycling sessions, two running sessions trail-running sessions. The RR series measured for minutes upon wake up after training, seating position, chest strap.
Results: Basal showed high correlation when weekly mean used, very similar variation used. In women, root square successive differences (RMSSD) was: r= 0.73; RMSSD (RMSSDcv) 0.66; natural logarithm (Ln) RMSSD: 0.68; LnRMSSDcv: 0.79; men it 0.78; RMSSDcv: -0.62; LnRMSSD: 0.75; -0.73).
Conclusion: these could useful program loads following microcycle.
