ABSTRACT
Purpose. This study aims to investigate fluid flow and heat transfer within rocks containing boreholes, focusing on the complex mechanisms hot reservoirs. Non-commercial finite element (FE) software is used visualize present results. Methods. The involved use of FE method with Visual Finite Element Analysis (VisualFEA) analyze coupled phenomena in a rock sample. Special attention was given incorporating material structure geotechnical analysis software, as well treatment cracked elements. In addition, validation done by comparing current numerical solution using VisualFEA ANSYS Software. Findings. findings highlight capabilities accurately represent flow, stress, borehole-containing rocks. results include insights into direction borehole, temperature distribution, performance against expected system behavior. demonstrates effectiveness handling loading its ability multiple directions 2D model. are presented form contours curves. Originality. contributes field demonstrating application analyzing boreholes. focus structure, analysis, elements adds originality study, providing comprehensive understanding Practical implications. practical significance this benchmarking for studying application. can be utilized engineers researchers better understand behavior under specific pressure thermal conditions. gained from decision-making processes related resource mining, reservoir engineering, geothermal energy use.
