Current scenario and future perspectives of clinical research in Brazil: a national survey

ABSTRACT
Background: Epidemiological and clinical cancer research is essential to understanding tumour behaviour developing new therapies in oncology.However, several countries including Brazil as well many other regions of the world have limited participation research.Despite 625,000 cases recorded 2022, only 2.2% ongoing trials are available country.We conducted an online survey describe physician engagement with identify main barriers precluding conduct country.Methods: An anonymous 23 objective questions was sent by e-mail Brazilian members Latin American Cooperative Oncology Group Society Clinical Oncology.The first 13 addressed demographic information, medical training previous participation.In second part, were addressed.Continuous variables measured median range.Analyses performed using SAS statistical software (version 9.4; Institute, Inc. Cary, NC).Results: 109 physicians answered survey.Most participants oncologists (N = 98, 89.9%), living capital cities 84, 77.1%), from Southeast region 63, 57.8%) worked at institutions providing exclusively private healthcare 59, 54.1%).Of respondents, 83 (76.1%) reported working centres (as investigators or sub-investigators).Surprisingly, 31.2% recognised
