ABSTRACT
The blood-brain barrier (BBB) is an obstacle for molecules to pass through from blood the brain. Focused ultrasound a new method which temporarily opens BBB, makes pharmaceutical delivery or removal of neurodegenerative proteins possible. This study was demonstrated review our BBB opening procedure with magnetic resonance guided images and find specific patterns in opening. In this study, we reviewed procedures results two clinical studies on using focused regarding its safety efficacy. Magnetic were also discover any findings. Two trials showed benefits. All safe opening, no side effects. imaging temporary T1 contrast enhancement sonication area, verifying opening. Several low-signal intensity spots observed T2 susceptibility-weighted angiography images, reversible temporary. Although these can be considered as microbleeding, evidence suggests are not ordinary microbleeding but indicator adequate opening.Magnetic proved efficient humans, ultrasound.
