ABSTRACT
This study aimed to assess the safety and efficacy of using PEAK Plasmablade TMX (PBX) in deep brain stimulation (DBS) implantable pulse generator (IPG) replacement surgeries, alongside identifying potential risk factors for postoperative complications. A prospective was conducted on 50 patients undergoing IPG with PBX, compared 150 historical controls. Demographic data, surgical characteristics, outcomes were analyzed. Logistic regression used identify predictors The demographic clinical profiles PBX group comparable those control group. significantly reduced duration (p=0.005) did not result impedance abnormalities. While wound complications differ between groups, logistic identified diabetes as a significant predictor dehiscence or delayed healing (p=0.012). findings support DBS offering advantages such minimized However, emerged adverse outcomes, highlighting need tailored preoperative assessment management strategies.
