ABSTRACT
To show that mechanical compression of sigmoid sinus is effective for treatment pulsatile tinnitus caused by enlargement, and to evaluate the relationship between degree symptom relief using magnetic resonance angiography.Medical records twenty-four patients who were diagnosed with venous enlargement underwent reviewed April 2009 May 2013. All these received computed tomography venography study before undergoing surgery followed at least 4 months.Twenty-three felt from three months after surgery, cross-sectional area on side was compressed approximately half (46%-69%) surgery. There whose suddenly disappeared while lying operating table operation, which may be a result patient's emotional tension or postural changes standing. One four no only 30%. And two them had recurrence about 6 Seven diverticula, would not disappear merely eliminating diverticulum until compressing certain degree. 3 minor complications, including aural fullness, head fullness hyperacusis. The preoperative low frequency conductive sensorineural hearing loss 7 subjects subsided.Mechanical an even if it might accompanied diverticulum. A 54% adequate symptom. Cases in patients' excluded improve efficacy
