Results of amputation after limb salvage surgery and primary amputation after diagnosis in malignant bone and soft tissue tumours

ABSTRACT
Introduction: In the surgical treatment of malignant musculoskeletal tumours, limb sparing surgery and rarely amputation are preferred. this study, we evaluated our patients who had undergone after limb-salvage or primary diagnosis in clinic. Methods: a total 18 due to complications extremity-sparing surgeries performed bone, soft tissue sarcoma/carcinoma benign aggressive bone tumour direct first between years 2015-2021 were retrospectively. Results: A (8 men, 10 women) underwent clinic 2015-2021; Twelve them secondary limb-sparing (LSS). And was 6 diagnosis. The mean age 46.8 years. died post-amputation period. It also observed that survival duration remaining 8 been still alive 16,3 months (min/max: months-36 months). Conclusion: Today, salvage has become standard tumours extremities need for is decreasing. Early referral reference centers compliance with necessary rules can reduce increase success rate surgery.
