ABSTRACT
Background: Endometrial aspiration cytology is the latest available modality for study of endometrial diseases. A large range diseases like atypia’s, malignancies, and infective changes can be diagnosed using a cytological examination. Aim Objectives: To assess adequacy aspirate endometrium examination correlating diagnosing efficiency with frozen section histopathology. Methods: cross sectional was conducted at department pathology, tertiary care health center in Pondicherry. Curettage were done 58 perimenopausal women abnormal uterine bleeding. sample subjected by Papanicolaou staining May- Grunewald- Gimesa staining, histopathology Hematoxalin & Eosin staining. Diagnostic accuracy compared gold standard histopathological Sensitivity, specificity predictive values calculated. Results: Among participants, mean age 45.02 ± 4.12 years. Majority (63.79%) participants had menorrhagia. High cellularity seen 58.62%. Sheets most commonly observed pattern on (65.52%).
