ABSTRACT
Foreign accent syndrome (FAS) is a little known disorder affecting language which has been described in few cases after acute strokes or traumatic brain injuries, but until now not reported multiple sclerosis (MS). It characterised by the appearance of what perceived to be foreign patient. Although it could included within dysprosodias that accompany motor aphasias, should considered as an entity its own right, since may appear without accompanying aphasia. Aphasia infrequent manifestation MS and even less so when appears initial symptom disease. When does occur usually accompanies large demyelinating lesions dominant hemisphere, type.Patient, aged 38 years, who presented FAS accompanied mild non fluent aphasia first with pseudotumoral lesions. Initially clinical features were interpreted somatoform disorder, delayed diagnosis.Like aphasia, can cortical disorder. important recognise this order prevent mistaken diagnoses.
