ABSTRACT
The effects of feeding different levels protein and vitamin B12 on egg production hatchability eggs Single Comb White Leghorn hens were studied. Diets containing 16 32% corn-soybean meal with without 10 μg. per kg. diet employed. Egg fertility not significantly affected by level or supplement. However, increasing in the hen diets resulted a significant decrease hatchability. Vitamin supplementation both improved eggs. supplementary was adequate to support desirable when contained protein. high protein, addition 16% increased weight. Chicks hatched from produced fed experimental used study effect breeder chick growth livability. A deficiency had detrimental Increasing 22 further chicks derived deficient hens. also depressed growth. This depression counteracted dietary supplement 500 B12/kg., an oral dose 50 B12/chick at hatching, injection 1 B12/bird hatching. supplied through more effective than stimulating early Mortality higher those reverse embryo mortality during incubation.
