ABSTRACT
The aim of this work was to analyze and compare the effect bone morphogenetic protein-7 on biological parameters related implant osseointegration in an experimental animal model. Sixteen dental implants were placed tibias four randomly selected minipigs for following surface treatments: Group A: conventional treatment by SLA (n = 8) B: with carboxyethylphosphonic acid 8). animals sacrificed one month after placement a histomorphometric study performed evaluation bone-to-implant contact, corrected new formation, interthread density peri-implant using Student's t-test non-parametric Mann-Whitney test. contact showed statistically significant differences between groups; 34.00% ± 9.92% 50.02% 10.94%, respectively (p 0.004) 43.08% 10.76% 63.30% 11.30%, 0.003) BMP-7. did not show groups 0.951, p 0.967 0.894, respectively). Dental surfaces treated BMP-7 improve response osseointegration.
