ABSTRACT
Increased dependence on aerobic glycolysis is characteristic of most cancer cells, whereas the mechanism underlying promotion in metastatic breast cells under ambient oxygen has not been well understood. Here, we demonstrated that aberrant expression signal-induced proliferation-associated 1 (SIPA1) enhanced and altered main source ATP production from oxidative phosphorylation to cells. We revealed SIPA1 promoted transcription EPAS1 , which known as gene encoding hypoxia-inducible factor-2α (HIF-2α) up-regulated multiple glycolysis-related genes increase glycolysis. also found blocking by either knocking down or oxamate treatment led suppression tumor metastasis both vitro vivo . Taken together, resulted alteration glucose metabolism even at levels, might aggravate malignancy The present findings indicate a potential target for development therapeutics against cancers with dysregulated expression.
